Singapore/Hong Kong (14 September 2009) - What makes jewellery truly wonderful? Here are some possible answers: top-notch stones, masterful handcrafting, brilliant design, the history of the piece, the tradition of the brand, the integrity of its creators. Discover how all these factors and more elevate the work of some of the world’s finest high-street jewellers at SOLITAIRE JEWELGALA, Asia’s Most Exclusive Jewellery Sales Event. It debuts in Hong Kong from 22 to 24 September at the Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong.

SOLITAIRE JEWELGALA is both a trade and consumer sales event organised by Solitaire Asia-Pacific magazine, a niche luxury title of the Edipresse Group. Hong Kong, Asia’s most vibrant economic market, was a deliberate destination for this premier jewellery event, a fresh platform for the world’s finest jewellers to tap into the growing Asian market.
For exclusivity, SOLITAIRE JEWELGALA is restricted to 20 top-end internationally
renowned high-street jewellers as exhibitors. They come in on an invitation-only basis after preselection from the database of Solitaire magazine. (List of confirmed exhibitors attached.) Buyers from the database of Solitaire magazine, and the database of luxury publications under the Edipresse Group, including 10 Asian Tatler magazines, are carefully selected for invitations, to ensure a match between the premium jewellery offered and an appropriate audience.
Visitors will be treated to a feast for the senses stirred by exquisite jewels that have never before been gathered in such a manner in the region. Highlights of SOLITAIRE JEWELGALA include a splendid pearl kimono adorned by 111,160 natural coloured pearls and intricately embroidered with gold and platinum threads: owned by one of the exhibitors, Chodhari Joaillier, it is estimated to be worth HKD 8,888,888. Another highlight is the Solitaire JewelGala Cocktail organised by Solitaire.

The cocktail gives a preview of JewelGala’s finest pieces to the society crème de la crème. Its select guest list was gleaned from the joint database of Solitaire, the Asian Tatler magazines and Occasions PR.
Six thousand industry insiders and the cream of Asia Pacific’s high net-worth individuals are expected to visit Solitaire JewelGala.
“Solitaire magazine was first published in 2002, and the past seven years have seen us become well-entrenched in the jewellery industry, gaining respect and popularity from readers who are both high-end jewellery aficionados and jewellery trade professionals. Now, we have newfound support from the Edipresse Group and its 29 luxury publications. The combination of in-depth jewellery knowledge, a massive high-end consumer database across the Asia-Pacific, as well as solid relationships with international jewellery trade professionals, strengthens and reinforces Solitaire JewelGala’s position as Asia’s Most Exclusive Jewellery Sales Event.” - Michelle Tay, Managing Director, Solitaire, Edipresse Singapore.
SOLITAIRE JEWELGALA will be open to the trade on the first day, 22 September. It opens to both trade and public visitors on 23 and 24 September.
